Vaclav Slovak came to Deauville last February with Zdeno Koplik and they were wise enough to buy Darat Al Ayam for a fairly reasonnable price. By King's Best out of a Listed placed mare,she proved a bargain when finishing third in the 1000 Guineas ran in Prague's racetrack, Velka Chuchle.Let's hope she keeps improving. And again we have the proof that fun is possible without spending a fortune!

Although she hasn't foaled yet , Vermentina had a nice update last sunday when her daughter Verema ran a very smart race in the Prix de Barbeville, Gr 3, beaten a head after a 3100 m trip! In foal to Siyouni, Vermentina (Darshaan) is booked to Redoute's Choice.

For many years, stud TNT has been a Brasilian leading breeder. Its Argentinian section was responsible for Viva Carina (09, by Giant's Causeway) winner -but disqualified to 2nd place -of the recent Santa Barbara Handicap, Gr. 2, ran in Santa Anita.Her Dam, Linda Regina (Highest Honor) was bought in Spain on behalf of TNT by France Turf Int'l and became the first winner under the former Calumet Farm racing colours in France for TNT, trained by J-L Pelletan.

Note that TNT has already won this race with Naughty Rafaëla (Royal Accademy) whose dam Risamixa (Linamix) was the first mare ever sold to TNT by France Turf Int'l.

Again, the European selection shows its real quality! Congratulations to TNT!

Entered in the French, English and Irish 2000 Guineas, Juddmonte's classic hope for 2013 has a sister, Noble Plea, standing in Argentina for SRDI. In foal South Hemisphere time to Invincible Spirit, her first foal is highly awaited. Here is a picture of her taken in Argentina.

Stud Rio Dois Irmãos who bought Vermentina (Darshaan) in December at Arqana will follow her daughter Véréma's run in the Dubaï Gold Cup, Gr3.

In the same race will run Seismos whose dam Sasuela is half-sister to Sahel, dam of Sahitas (Lomitas), one of SRDI 's mare in Argentina.

The dream goes on for Peter and Antoinette Kavanagh. Their Russian Soul is due to run in the 1 million $ Al Quoz Sprint (Gr1) . Winner in Irland, three times second and once third in Dubaï, he earned over hundred times his cost at the Arqana sales... Everybody can dream!

On January 17th at Meydan, Russian Soul ran a very credible second beaten just 1 length.

Again, we see that cheap horses can be fun!

Incredible week for their broodmare Sahitas (Lomitas-Sahel by Monsun)! After her half-sister Intimhir (f. 2010, Muhtathir-Sahel ) won her maiden at Longchamp first time out, SEISMOS (out of Sahel's half-sister) won a Gr 3 in Baden-Baden and now SORTILEGE won the Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio! Sahitas, exported to Argentina has a filly by Desert Style and is in foal to Catcher In The Rye. Bought privately to the Wertheimer Brothers, Sahitas proves that private deals can be enourmously successfull stories!
